Happy New Year!
I’m excited to start out the year committed to start blogging again. After a hiatus because of my third child being born, I am ready to dive back into writing on a more frequent basis. Writing always helps me think through experiences in life and inspires me to be a more intentional person. I’m going to be focusing on two types of blogs for this year.
The first will be based around the topic of Embracing Emotions. Since becoming a mother my emotions have run stronger and deeper than ever before in my life. Sometimes they have scared me how strong they can be. I want to learn to accept that I feel these emotions, embrace them, and ultimately know how to best process them. I will be using scripture, academic research, and my own experiences to discuss one emotion a month.
The second type of blog I will be working on this year will be focusing on minimalism. For a long time, I’ve desired to focus on living with less and holding to a more simplistic lifestyle. When the trend of minimalism started, it gave me tools and language to start that journey in our family. This year we as a family are committing to focusing on one area to simplify for each month and I plan to blog about what we focus on and how it goes. I think the trick for me will be to stay focused on just the one area. I tend to get really excited about ideas and want to implement them all at once. Some areas of minimalism we have already started focusing on but I’m hoping this journey will help us to finish the job we started.
